Charterhouse was built over 100 years ago being built in 1907 and enjoying all the associated Edwardian features such as large rooms, with a light and airy feel, enormous bay windows with views over the local sub-tropical gardens and Torbay. The large private grounds afford the opportunity to relax, soak up the sun and cool off in the outdoor swimming pool (heated May to September).

We have a mixture of double and twin rooms, family suites, and two garden rooms suitable for families or couples in which we do allow well-behaved dogs. Indeed you may well meet our own dogs around the grounds, Toffee and Phoebe, who are full of terrier character.
The bedrooms are light airy and comfortable and have new flat screen free view TVs and complimentary refreshments. On arrival we like to let you relax with a pot of tea/coffee and biscuits before showing you to your room.
The sun terrace leads off from the sun room and main lounge, commanding a wonderful view of the gardens and surrounding area, ideal for relaxing whilst enjoying one of our special Devon Cream Teas.
